Intercompatible Ambient Music NFTs

TLDR:

FlukeLoops is a music NFT project on the KYOTO Blockchain, launched to coincide with the launch of the Arboretum marketplace.

Batch released, original (not AI generated!) music compositions, designed to be infinitely combined and layered to produce unlimited, unique soundscapes.

Listeners can build collections of pieces from multiple musicians, all of which will sound great together.

5% of profits given to plant trees through KYOTO Foundation.

Created by Josiah Gillespie

How it began

My name is Josiah Gillespie, I’m a UK based musician with training and experience spanning a range of genres and applications. Over many years of composing and recording ambient, emotive music, I developed a vision for an entirely new musical concept. The arrival of NFT technology has provided the perfect opportunity to make this vision a reality.

What it is

FlukeLoops are brief musical and natural recordings, created in such a way that any number can be played at once. Each new combination produces music that has never been heard before – and a small collection of FlukeLoops can be combined an infinite number of ways. The result is a new kind of musical collectable, where the whole collection is transformed by the addition of each new piece. Multiple artists can contribute batches, making FlukeLoops a potential genre of collectables in themselves.

FlukeLoops also include a visual element, the audio being paired with images or video.

A major element of FlukeLoops is the inclusion of recordings from nature. I’ve chosen to do this as a way of shining a light on the beauty of the natural environment, combining music with the sounds of rivers, trees, birds, rain etc. The goal is to expand this element of the project, with funds from sales facilitating the development of extensive audio libraries of natural sounds.

What’s Coming Soon?

A small initial release of 100 FlukeLoops – KSET - will be offered on Arboretum, the KYOTO based NFT marketplace. The KSET release has a strong emphasis on appreciating the natural world, with recordings of environmental audio being included alongside musical compositions. All the images paired with the audio are taken from the Cornish countryside in the UK.

Where to buy/use FlukeLoops

The project has been developed and tested on the Ethereum network, and early releases can be found on the OpenSea marketplace.

Going forward, the move will be made to KYOTO, a more sustainable and climate positive option. Regular, small releases of FlukeLoops will be available for Arboretum, KYOTO’s NFT marketplace.

A standalone website is under development, offering collectors intuitive tools for listening to, combining and remixing, and trading their FlukeLoops.
